On August 5th, 2019, the First "Maritime Silk Road” International Forum for Intellectual Property Innovation and Cooperation was held in Zhuhai successfully, which was held jointly by HIPEX and Guangdong Intellectual Property Research Association, supported by Guangdong Intellectual Property Protection Center, Zhuhai Municipal Market Supervision Administration (Zhuhai Intellectual Property Office). Ms. Xie Hong, deputy director of Guangdong Intellectual Property Protection Center, Mr. Huang Baoshan, deputy director of Zhuhai Municipal Market Supervision Administration, and Mr. Xia Dexing, president of HIPEX, attended the forum and delivered opening speeches and about 200 people participated in the event , who are from government department , academic institutions, enterprises, research institutions, business associations, and IP law firms and services.
The forum aims to implement the "Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao Bay Area Development Plan", promotes the construction of the Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao Bay Area International Science and Technology Innovation Center, enhances the level of international cooperation in the Bay Area, and plays Zhuhai strategic fulcrum role of the "Maritime Silk Road" in the 21st century.
With the deepening of the “One Belt, One Road” international cooperation, intellectual property rights will play an increasingly important role in science and technology, cultural exchanges and cooperation and economic and trade activities among countries along the “Belt and Road”. The in-depth promotion of the “Belt and Road” will also enhance the international competitiveness of Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao Bay Area, expand new space for higher levels of participation in international cooperation and competition, and develop institutional mechanisms for the cooperation in the innovation of the Greater Bay Area.
